This book was written years after the accident that cost Virginia her leg, and Jeff much of the health of his back. This accident, as life-altering as it was, did not stop Jeff and Virginia as they sought to serve God on the mission field.

A church started

Even in the midst of the healing process after this accident, the Harris' did not lose sight of God's calling to start a work in Canada. In 2003, the same year as the accident, Beacon Baptist Church was started in Welland, Ontario, Canada.

The purpose of the book

The title of the book holds it's purpose. "That We May Be Able To Comfort" was written so that somebody else might be comforted by the tragedy that happened to the Harris family. The hope is that you will be comforted in hearing this story of God's faithfulness in the midst of great tribulation.
